Before landing my dream job with B.R.Zoom-X in February of 2009, I paid my dues in the bar scene of Houston for over eight years. In 2000 I left my hippie artist friends in Austin to open a neighborhood pub with my pops in H-Town. After four years, that endeavor left me with some nice green in my pocket and a chance to pursue my art while slinging whiskey and suds in various other Houston institutions.
Being in the “scene” for so many years has allowed me to foster some great relationships with fellow bartenders, managers and owners. I’ve also had the opportunity to meet some cool cats in the art and music scene.
